Skyvibe Serial #8

Forecast for the week of February 19th - 25th, 2023

Some Sweet Sounds

Overall, this week is a little less eventful than the last – no end of an era cazimi, no year-defining dreams coming through – just a couple of transiting Mercury aspects and the Pisces New Moon.

On the whole, this week is one that's about thinking and speaking clearly about the things we need in order to heal: things that need to change, ways we need to innovate where old ways of doing things are no longer kind or compassionate to carry on – for us, or others.

The Mercury connection to Mars (particularly with Mercury ruling Mars) suggests that giving voice to our anger, in a clear and dispassionate way, is actually necessary too.

There's likely a few things that need to get cut off at the pass, connections that need to be severed, and possibly even a bridge or two that could use a good burning down.

The Good

The New Moon in Pisces is one where the Moon has a bit more power and dignity than we've seen in the last couple of months. We start the week with the last few hours of Venus exalted in Pisces.

Enjoy the sensuous beauty of the way that light dapples through the blinds, or streams in through he open windows. Put on some tunes that really feel good to you.

The Meh

Now that the Sun is separating from the conjunction with Saturn, Saturn is back to being under the beams. Not exactly a stellar way to close out the 5 1/2 year long journey we've been on with Saturn at home in their own signs.

Mars picking up speed is also some mas o menos style news. Sure, it gives Jupiter a bit more juice, but it also gives Mars more room to wreak havoc during the day. So – meh.

The Oh Fuck Me*:

Venus dipping outta Her** exaltation and into detriment is a real bummer.

Mercury leads the airy triplicity by night, and rises in Aquarius during the night, aided by domicile lord Saturn. Except, Aquarius rising at night with Saturn in the sign means that Saturn's contrariness to the night time makes Mercury's magic a bit inaccesible, or else... heavy, slow, and kinda depressing.

Clarity comes with a bit of a cost.

Go figure.

*please note: "oh fuck me" is my way of subverting the normalization of conventional beauty standards; I'm not at all suggesting these outcomes are guaranteed, or that everyone is going to experience these undesirable manifestation. Rather, that in the RPG of life, these would be the chaotic evil playthrough of the same energies described by the good and the meh.

on the gender of the planets**: Around these parts we conceive of the planets as elders – eteranlly incarnate living beings. As such, paying the linguistic respect of people-pronouns seems only fair. No "it/its/it's" around here. Though that's plenty valid. You can read a few more words about gender and the planets, if you care to, by clicking this here link.

Week in (wal)Nut Shell

pardon the pun

Week in (wal)Nut Shell:

The New Moon and the ingress of Venus into Aries start the week off with the most noticeable transits right up front. After that, it's just a couple of Mercury aspects – namely to Chiron, Uranus, and Mars.

Sunday: Pisces New Moon
Monday: processing pain
Tuesday: quick and quiet
Wednesday: benefic enclosure!
Thursday: spicy surge
Friday: whew! relief.
Saturday: clarity re: needs

Day by Day

All the transits, day

Sunday the 19th

Just before the day is done, the New Moon occurs at 1°22' Pisces. A few minutes later, Venus dashes out of Pisces and into Aries. A real just beofre the stroke of midnight Cinderella style move.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

There are no classical aspects among traditional planets.

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

08:07 am - Moon parallel Mercury
09:04 am - Venus at 29° Pisces sextile Pluto at 29° Capricorn

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

6:00 pm - Moon conjunct Saturn at 28° Aquarius
7:40 pm - Moon contra-parallel Uranus
8:19 pm - Jupiter contra-parallel Vesta
8:55 pm - Moon enters Pisces
11:05 pm - New Moon at 1°22' Pisces
11:55 pm - Venus enters Aries

The final conjunction of the Moon and Saturn in one of Saturn's signs for a really really long time. Aquarius Moon's rejoice! It'll get easier from here. ...if a little slowly.

It's a heavy start to the evening which opens up into a potential frenzy. Or, perhaps just a fitful night's sleep.

The Sun Surmises:

Starting the day with the reprise of the many times we experienced Venus and Pluto in cahoots is one way to start the week. Most of the rest of the day goes by lingering on that refrain until the heaviness of several years of retrospect greets us in the evening. The Moon's quiet slide to join the Sun in Pisces presages a real tide change coming over the course of the next couple weeks.

Before the Moon is new again in Aries, Saturn will leave Aquarius for good.

This New Moon then is likely to go one of two ways: an impassioned escape from the heaviness of reality, or the birth of a dream that maybe never comes to anything, but gives you hope in a dark place all the same.

Monday the 20th

Tender feelings in the morning and friction in the evening after a passionate night of a New Moon. What's not to love!? In all seriousness, and as always: there's an opportunity for healing some of our core wounding related to our individuality and interdependence. That's on account of Chiron in Aries.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

06:49 am - Moon parallel Saturn

Technically, there's no classical sight based aspects. The parallel between the Moon and Saturn is sorta like an echo of the conjunction from the night previous. A little lingering heaviness. Or maybe determination?

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

8:59 am - Mercury at 13° Aquarius sextile Chiron at 13° Aries

Again, this wouldn't have caught the notice of our ancient astro ancestors, but it's likely to be something that influences the day. Mercury is the planet that allows for us to interpret and negotiate, and Chiron is the asteroid that holds the key to our woundedness.

Potentially an opportunity for communicating something important to yourself, or important others, about the things that hurt or some avenues to healing.

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

4:26 pm - Moon parallel Sun
9:19 pm - Moon at 15° Pisces sextile Uranus at 15° Taurus
10:43 pm - Moon at 16° Pisces square Mars at 16° Gemini

Another night that ends with tension and strain. The sextile between the Moon and Uranus gives zany and kooky vibes, whereas the square between the Moon and Mars is awkwardly received.

Monday's More or Less:

The day as a whole is subtle vibes up until the late night. Maybe more so than usual how this plays out is going to depend on what's going on in your chart. Fixed placement heavy folks are probably going to be kinda raw still from the last couple of weeks, so the scattered lightning of the Moon/Uranus aspect followed by the friction and heat of the Moon/Mar might lead to some fiery late night moods. Or another fitful night of sleep.

On the other hand, if you're sitting pretty with a functionally benefic Saturn, then you might be somber, sober, and looking forward to getting to work making your dreams come true.

Tuesday the 21st

Technically there's not a single aspect that an ancient astrologer would have recognized happening today. That's doesn't mean that astrology suddenly stops working! It simply means that the shifts in the astroweather are likely to be subtle today.

Which is just as well. After a couple of restless nights, we could use a day with a little less pimp & upheaval-ish mess.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

06:36 am - Moon contra-parallel Chiron

There are no classical aspects among traditional planets. Even the sensitive-to-the-subtle are likely to not feel much. If you're aiming to study the transits, look for a 'soft opposition' like vibe coupling mood (Moon) and hurt.

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

11:51 am - Moon conjunct Neptune at 24° Pisces
2:22 pm - Mercury at 15° Aquarius square Uranus at 15° Taurus
2:43 pm - Moon at 26° Pisces sextile Hygeia at 26° Capricorn

Foggy idealism, followed up by some serious inventiveness, the middle of the day see us mentally nimble and desiring to clear or clean things up.

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

7:04 pm - Moon parallel Neptune
8:01 pm - Moon contra-parallel Jupiter
8:05 pm - Moon at 29° Pisces sextile Pluto 29° Capricorn
9:13 pm - Moon enters Aries
10:02 pm - Moon parallel Vesta

Technically no classical aspects, but still a little charge of intensity from the Moon's contact to Pluto. Watch for drives to power games, or asserting your will where nothing good can come of it.

Tuesday's TL;DR:

The most potent aspect today is likely to be that sextile to Pluto tonight. Like a power plant coming online to energize the emotional state.

With this day of relative calm take some time to allow your system to settle, the dreams percolated to come to room temperature... you get the idea.

Challenge of the Day

Take 3 - 5 minutes to let your mind wander without judgement. This is meditation, there's no goal to empty your mind. Maybe you spend that time following a little day dream, maybe you just stare out a window a few minutes.

Consider, if you want to, what it was like to do this exercise. Or don't.

The whole challenge is just to allow yourself to "do something" that has no goal, or purpose, without judgement, and without making it into a thing.

Wednesday the 22nd

Benefic Enclosure Alert!

Benefic enclosure alert! From 1:25am until 2:48pm, the Moon will be traveling between conjunctions with Venus and then Jupiter. This bodily conjunction is one you'll just be able to see on the Western horizon just after sunset.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

01:25 am - Moon conjunct Venus at 2° Aries
07:52 am - Moon conjunct Vesta at 6°Aries
8:00 am - Moon parallel Venus

Technically, Vesta does not interrupt a window of benefic enclosure.

The Moon's conjunction to Venus in Aries is interesting all the same because neither planet is actually happy to be in Aries. And Aries is above the horizon during the day right now, which makes them both a little more unsettled.

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

2:48 pm - Moon conjunct Jupiter at 10° Aries
3:32 pm - Moon contra-parallel Vesta

The Moon's conjunction to Jupiter in Aries means different things depending on whether we're talking about what it's like as an individual to experience it, versus what it's likely to look like out in the world.

Internally, a conjunction of the Moon and Jupiter might have feeling rather hungry, ravenous even. For pleasure, excitement, freedom, growth or expansion... It's a desirous configuration, and in the sign of Aries those desires are likely to be many – arising quickly, and potently encouraging

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

6:23 pm - Moon parallel Jupiter
7:01 pm - Moon contra-parallel Neptune
7:55 pm - Moon conjunct Chiron at 13° Aries

There are no classical aspects among traditional planets. But the Moon's conjunction to Chiron definitely could have us feeling tender, and talking about it. Particularly if the Mercury/Chiron sextile from Monday has still gone un-processed.

Wednesday's Word:

Likely to be the highlight of the week, even though neither the Moon or Venus is particularly happy about their zodiacal location.

The Moon in Aries is fiery and enflamed. Quick to rise to meet anger and the hot emotions, and just as fast to find them fleeting or frivolous.

Thursday the 23rd

This day is relatively full, starting off with a spicy morning. Not to be outdone, the evening brings its own surge of emotional intensity. With the Moon in Aries ruled by Mars over in Gemini, taking us back to Mercury who's answering to Saturn it's not exactly like we can say the things that come up today are just the venting of steam.

It's likely that the things that come up today are related to the long-standing Chiron wounds we've been working toward healing, or the final wrap and post... production clean up on the Saturn in Aquarius transit.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

01:44 am - Moon at 16° Aries sextile Mars at 16° Gemini
03:02 am - Moon at 17° Aries sextile Mercury at 17° Aquarius

The Moon's sextiles to Mercury and Mars start off the day. Bringing friction, tension, and the potential for some spicy verbal confrontations.

Neko Case wrote a whole song about what the Moon, Mercury, and Mars all together can feel like. Whether you take this as a motivating anthem or a warning to heed is up to y'all.

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

08:15 am - Moon parallel Chiron

There are no classical aspects among traditional planets. And the parallel to Chiron is likely to subtle even for those who are sensitive. Still, you can look out for tender feels, and opportunities to nurture and provide security or comfort for those tender parts of yourself.

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

6:53 pm - Moon contra-parallel Sun
6:56 pm - Moon at 26° Aries square Hygeia at 26° Capricorn
10:05 pm - Moon at 28° Aries sextile Saturn at 28° Aquarius
11:21 pm -  Moon at 29° Aries square Pluto at 29° Capricorn

The Moon's sextile to Saturn brings a measure of seriousness, and tempers the erratic speed of the Moon in Aries. The square to Pluto is high friction, and lowkey stressful. Dreams might be a bit intense tonight.

Just Jot this for Jupiter's Day:

Taken on their own, there aren't too many days that have highly notable transits in and of themselves. But when we start considering the way they build together, which ones foreshadowed and which ones closed old loops, then we can see why a day like today, mostly filled with not-classical transits, could still be a day that gets to us.

Most likely to do so if the cardinal signs are prominent in your chart, or activated in some way. Or if Mercury, Mars, or the Moon are timelords (or chronocrators) of some sort.

Friday the 24th

The Moon waxes and gains some light. Early in the sign the Moon is relatively free from the malefics, and from the disruptive influence of Uranus. This is more a note for Betterthans & B-Sides, but I want to illustrate the way that positive transits are part of the formula for beneficial or auspicious moments.

This is one of the quietest days of the week with very little action in the sky, classical or otherwise. The only true aspect today is the opening sextile of the Moon's solar phase cycle.

If you did decide to try to manifest with the New Moon, then this day should give you the first indications of that that thing may go.

If you read the post for the Pisces New Moon, then you know that this isn't a particularly auspicious lunar cycle for doing that though.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

00:28 am - Moon enters Taurus

The Moon's entry in Taurus elevates the Moon to the exalted status of honored guest in the garden of Venus. On the other hand, the Moon is now handing up with unpredictable Uranus. There a fundamental tension between our desire for comfort and security and the (seemingly) urgent need to deploy an innovative solution to whatever you've identified as being 'the problem'.

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

09:23 am - Moon contra-parallel Saturn
10:58 am - Jupiter contra-parallel Neptune
11:01 am - Moon at 5° Taurus sextile Sun at 5° Pisces

The opening sextile of the waxing Moon brings the enough light to start some things to do. Think hopeful feels and gentle productivity. You know, things actually coming together. Even if not in a huge torrent of ass-kicking accomplishment energy.

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

10:57 pm - Moon parallel Uranus

There are no classical aspects among traditional planets.

Venus Votes:

This day is a good one. The Moon is relatively undisturbed. Though the fact that neither the Sun nor Venus can see the Moon does mean that good will necessarily amount to much.

Still, it should be an enjoyable day all the same.

Saturday the 25th

The Moon's monthly conjunction with Uranus brings its regular dose of weird and whacky, and the uniquely innovative. Shakeups are a good keyword for Uranus. The rest of the day goes by with not much going on save for a square between the Moon and Mercury.

Early AM (midnight - 08:00, PST):

00:32 am - Moon contra-parallel Mercury
04:24 am - Moon conjunct Uranus at 15° Taurus

This is good reason to keep a dream journal nearby. The Moon has a bit of something to with our dreams (the sleeping kind, not the hopes type). A conjunction to Uranus during the sleeping / early morning hours brings energizes those faculties.

Especially with respect to the things that we need to feel safe, comfortable, and secure the conjunction of the Moon and Uranus should bring us some impulses for inventiveness and innovation.

Midday (08:00 - 16:00, PST):

08:14 am - Venus contra-parallel Vesta

There are no classical aspects among traditional planets. Is anyone likely to notice this in a particularly potent way? Nah. If you want to try to see if you can feel it, look for friction and tension between impulses for relationality and autonomy.

Concord and focus are a bit at odds today.

Late PM (16:00 - midnight, PST):

4:15 pm - Moon at 21° Taurus square Mercury at 21° Aquarius

Communication is key, and in the afternoon there's a great combination of clarity and emotional security. When we feel both stable, and that the conversation we're having is "reasonable", we're often able to extend a little bit more vulnerability.

Saturn's Summary:

The square between Mercury and the Moon following on the heels of the Moon's conjunction to Uranus means that we're likely to be acutely aware of the places we feel instability. The Moon being the planet that most wants to feel secure. Now stability and security certainly aren't synonyms, but most folks seems to equate if not conflate them.

With the Moon in Taurus we're somatically associated with the sensory input that gives material grounding to our experience. Uranus has been in that part of the sky for about 4 years now, so the types of upsets and upheaval coming from this part of the chart are likely a bit familiar, even if they keep finding new ways to manifest themselves.

The Moon's square to Mercury is one that has clear thinking driving at our needs and comfort.  Not exactly comfortable. Even if it is necessary.

This is sort of a 'necessity is the mother of invention' kind of day. Where the necessities are the things the Moon (and the Taurus part of our charts) need in order to feel right with the world. And the invention is the intended outcome of the final Mercury/Uranus square that so heavily involves or relies upon Saturn.

In other words, if you look closely and back to 2019 (Uranus's entry into Taurus), or 2021/2022 (the Saturn/Uranus square), you might find that the things you're thinking and feeling about today are actually a hard-won evolved response to something you've been working through for a long time.
