What a time! How to even begin attempting to summarize one of the most profound experiences I’ve had?

Perhaps by noting that I was so engrossed in the moment I rarely took a picture. Very leave no trace, take only memories—IYKYK.

After more than two weeks home I’ve cleared the covid recovery hurdle and reacclimated (as much as I’ll ever be able) to the “ordinary” life I tucked safely away when I departed for Chicago. But a lot is shifting and in motion already. I’ve got a number of events lined up, one open for registration now, another soon, and yet another that I'm scheduling and will be announcing soon.

For those of your gracious and glorious souls who were silent as a whisper while I realized the slides I'd practiced with on my laptop were not in fact the slides loaded onto the conference computer - I'm working on a redux! Expect to see an announcement and date for that very soon.

It was consistently on my mind that this time, from UAC until this upcoming Libra New Moon marks 8 years from the time I really got my start as a professional astrologer. Some of you may know about 2018, I-Astrologer, the Most Promising Astrologer award, and my road to presenting Intersectional Astrology at NORWAC 2020 (and Allied Media Conference… and helping to organize Queer Astrology Conference 2020). But those are all stories that, while very much alive and continuing to play themselves out in the very elevators and hallways of the Magnificent Mile Marriott, will have to wait to be told some other time.

Even after dozens of pages of journaling, I'm still only just able to describe everything that transpired to myself. I imagine I'll have made sense of it just in time for the next astrological singularity event. One thing I did not expect in the least little bit was to hear cicadas for the first time. ...while discussing the Muses with dear friends.

There’s a whole prologue about the testability (or lack thereof) of astrology, and especially astrological timing and magic. Like, do they work? Yes. Are they real? Of course! But, can I test it and use those results to confirm or challenge a falsifiable hypothesis? Not exactly. Maybe not at all?

Long story short – I watched my Mom who had no idea about my 48-hour internal debate with myself over whether to be impractical so I could use the best election available to leave. Nor did I tell her about the time I thought would be great for departing to my grandparents. She simply… got up and ready at the exact moment and speed so that she, intuitively… used my election.

I, on the other hand, narrowly used my 2nd-rate choice and spent part of my trip wondering whether I made or missed the elections, and if they work at all if the 2nd homie I bumped into at the airport left at a totally different time and was having the same experience on the exact same flight as I. Oh the answers we'll never know!

As indicated above, the middle part of my story involves a slide deck snafu, spiraling up cycles of time, and enough synchronicity to reboot Sting & the Police.

Averting Adversity and Preparing to Persevere

Then, two days later—Saturday, November 14th from 10a – 2p Pacific, we’ll work with one of my favorite techniques for Averting Adversity and Preparing to Persevere where I’ll guide participants through a self-exploration of the year-ahead. Not a transit talk at all, this workshop will help you to understand which part of your nativity is ripe for the picking (or in need of TLC) in 2027.
